Choose the Right
So it's a busy time of year and it seems that things come up and you get to things a little later then you had anticipated like folding the laundry and practicing the organ. Well tonight I needed to go practice on the organ at the church since I am the lucky organist this Sunday. I start practicing and the other ward is there having their mutual night and so there's people around. No big deal. I just start playing some songs trying to figure out what's going to work best for Sunday and I hear the door open... I glance and I don't see anyone there. That happens a lot when I practice and there's people around. They just like to check things out. So I'm just doing my thing concentrating really hard and it's been like 5 minutes since the door open and out of the corner of my eye I see this orange thing run across the back of the chapel squealing! It startles me so I jump but I just keep going. It gets quiet again and I'm just doing my thing and again the same kid who's between a cub scout and deacon age does the same thing. This time I didn't jump. I just decided to play something else that I knew better. So I play Count your Blessings a couple times through and then I turn the page back one and there is the good old hymn Choose the Right! I smiled to myself and I started to play wondering if it would make a difference. At about the middle of the song I see two boys walk across the back of the chapel and I hear the door open and shut. So see it really does work to think of a hymn to keep yourself out of trouble! God knew what he was doing when he put those hymns next to each other :)
