SO it finally happened. The first day of school arrived at our house. This is how our morning went.
6:30 A.M. Got kids up to read scriptures
6:40 A.M. Gave Dad hugs and kisses on his way out the door to go to work
6:50 A.M. Make breakfast of pancakes (with peanut butter on top Yum!)
While Zach gets dressed and I get Sam dressed so we can eat breakfast
7:15 A.M. Have Zach brush teeth, Comb hair, make bed, put shoes on, and vacuum one room (his chore for this week)
7:30 A.M. Zach says "No more work. I'm ready to go, I've got my backpack" I say it's not time to go yet honey" Zach says "Yes mom we need to go now" I say "Honey school doesn't start for another 2 hours!" Then I get a long sad face and he wears his backpack for those two hours!
Not excited at all! He only got to go for an hour the first day and then the rest of the week they do Kindergarten testing. We went today and I was really proud of Zach! He knows lots of stuff! He's worked really hard this summer learning to read! (I knew it was time when he was sounding out the words on the cereal box and other places) I also had him write his full first and last name three times this summer as part of his "homework" in our morning routine. He also did some addtion and can do problems like this 5+4=___!
I love his love of learning and how excited he is about school. I think he'll do great!
P.S. I'll post pictures later. They're still on the camera :)
