The City is my Jungle Gym

So have you ever felt like a jungle gym? I think all parents, aunts, uncles, and big people in general feel like this to some extent when there are little people around. Our Sunday activities usually include a little rough housing to keep us all from going insane. We have learned to tone it down a little bit since Sam gets really concerned and doesn't like all the intimidation noises and hard thumps on the floor... He's probably the one who keeps us from getting hurt :)

We like to walk our elementary school friends to school even though we don't have to be there and this morning we were walking and Sam has this new buddy Kyle Powell. Kyle is in Kindergarten. We were talking and him and Eliza were saying how they needed to be fast and that cheetahs are fast. I said that the cheetahs are fast and then asked how fast cheetahs were. Kyle says "Oh, probably between 35 and 50 miles an hour." I just smiled and said that is really fast! You learn a lot about kids when you take the time to listen and ask questions.

Last Thursday Zach and I got to go to Krispy Kreme's on a preschool field trip. It was fun to see all the kids here and there and to listen to what they thought of the doughnut machine and to watch them gobble up their doughnuts in no time.

Plus this last week Sam went from 7:00 P.M. to 5:30 A.M. before he needed to eat! Yea! He's only done it once but we're on the right track.

That is so awesome about Sam. Maybe a full night sleep is in the up coming future. I hope that it is.

I've also been finding out how funny kids can be this week. I'm surprised at the creativity and energy they all have. sure love ya.

Homemaking 101

Does anyone else feel like it's time for a refresher course on homemaking 101? Maybe we should watch a few seasons of Leave it to Beave...
